Casino – A Movie Review

A casino is a gambling establishment that offers gamblers a unique environment to play games of chance. While a casino can also offer other activities to its patrons, it is best known for the gambling that takes place there. Today, casinos use a variety of strategies to attract and retain their customers. These include dazzling lights, joyous sounds from slot machines, and the scent of scented oils wafted through the ventilation system. This manufactured experience of bliss is designed to make people feel more euphoric than they would otherwise feel in their daily lives and keep them playing longer.

In addition, casinos use a number of other techniques to make their patrons feel more comfortable. For example, the colors used for the rugs and tables are meant to create certain moods. The music is also carefully chosen, as it has been shown to influence the way that a person plays. Finally, the dealers are trained to be polite and friendly, which can help to reduce stress levels.

Lastly, casinos utilize advanced technology to monitor their patrons. High-tech “eyes in the sky” enable security workers to see every table, change window, and doorway of the facility at any given time. These cameras can be focused on specific patrons if necessary, and they allow the staff to quickly discover any deviation from expected results.

All in all, Casino is an excellent movie to watch for anyone who wants to get a glimpse into the darker side of Las Vegas. While the violence in this film is over the top in many ways, Scorsese was simply trying to faithfully portray a reality that exists.
